Hey guys,

I'm gonna be in Austin for an event this weekend and I may have a couple of hours of down time. Anyone know of a place to wet a line in town from the bank? Nothing serious, just a park or something to cast a lure, maybe catch a bass or bream for kicks. I might even bring the fly rod.

Red Bud Isles just below the Lake Austin Dam. you can drive right up to the water, park, and cast. spotted bass, sunfish, Rio Grande Perch,largemouth, maybe a smallie, crappie or white bass thrown in for good measure.

By all means take the flyrod, you might have yourself a grand old time!

Decker which is located on the Southeast side! Bass,catfish,and sunfish can be taken from the bank.




Side Note: You can also give Lady Bird Lake a shot. Lots of bank space to fish. Located on the south end of downtown right at the Colorado River. Lots of parking at the park which is located just off of IH 35.
