I use the original Joe Spaits Spoon in 5" variety. Heavier blank than almost all of the other spoons and you get a different action out of it. Been using it for over 12 years now. Hope this helps.

I'm purely a Big Joe's spoon guy, myself. And I think it's a bit early to be throwing one. Other baits will produce more consistently right now.
