I just got my kayak last night, will be taking it out to Lavon tomorrow morning sometime as well. Not sure where to put in at though, any suggestions?

Highland park is closed. You have to park at the gate and haul everything down.

Looks like an eater to me  caught a few on tawak this weekend and a turtle  Turtle swallowed hook so its head fell off. Tough bite for me too. Merky water and light variable winds combined with lots of rain perhaps? Thanks for postin 101. If thats all u got too I dont feel as bad :-D id like to fish w ya again soon...

I was out there on Lavon, first time in my kayak. It was fun, didn't catch anything, water was like mud, but still had a good time. I launched underneath the first bridge off of East Lucas Rd. Looks like a good place to fish, lots of timber and brush. Probably will be better fishing once the water clears up a bit. It was an easy launch from down there. I could have backed my SUV all the way up to the water but the area around it was so muddy I was afraid of getting stuck. Only had to carry the kayak about 50 yards though. Gonna try to hit up Grapevine this coming Sunday morning, around the Murrell Park area. If you are out there paddle up and say hey.
