I wonder what it is like owning a 70k bass boat and getting a welfare check?
It would be a dream to fish for a living but with a record like a lot of these guys they need to move on.

Haha. I see it all the time. Just in different ways. I see broke farmers making 20K net a year with $500k tractors and $80K trucks. I see broke welfare people living in project housing driving $60k+ German cars.

Me. I'd take the bass boat option. Lol.

If he's smart he'll get a real job. I love to fish as much as anyone but that's got to be a tough way to make any reasonable amount of money.

Honestly, I'm not sure how any of the pros make it outside of the top 25-30. The cash just isn't that big when you consider the expenses/fees/etc. involved.

If this was his end result he was bleeding massive amounts of money to stay in the elite series. Unless he was a millionaire living on a nice return on investment, he couldn't keep this up without major sponsorship money. He'd probably blow through $18k in less than a half a dozen tournaments and sponsor money pretty quick as well, based on the cost I have witnessed other elite pros talk about in this series and just tournament fishing in general.
