Nice one Braxton! You have always been one to set your goals low.

fish I was very interested in fishing this with my grandson but your $150 entry fee is going to have us just fishing for fun. Good luck!

First, this is truly visionary for this area.

I think Max brings up a good point in that the entry fee required to get in the neighborhood of enough to offer 5K is the steepest entry I have ever seen for a crappie tournament. If I remember right, the CAT championship on Belton had sponsors, a $100 entry, and still paid $2,500.

Personally, I just like to fish, though a big prize is nice if available, not that I've ever won one that big. I too had to think twice myself seeing $150. I'm wondering if a more manageable top prize of say $2,000 for the team and $500 for big fish is the way to go and lowering the entry to $100 might draw in more casual anglers. This would still be the largest total paid in the Centex area outside of the CAT championship a couple of years ago.

I think it would be a great success to see:

1st Place - $2000
2nd Place - $1000
3rd Place - $500 (still covers travel and lodging for non-locals)
4th Place - $250
5th Place - $100 - Refund:)

Big Fish - $500
2nd Biggest - $250
3rd Biggest - $100 - Refund:)

Thus, that's $4700

Let's say you get 32 teams at $100, then we're at $3,200 of that. Find sponsors for at least $2,000 total. Then you meet that pay structure and $500 goes to the charity.

Will just have to state that prizes are estimated based on XX entries so you can adjust down if you don't get that many.

Just my two cents.

Great Input Lucas, and don't worry Max we will lower the entry so that you and your grandson can fish !!! 100 sounds better. I am planning on raising enough sponsor money to cover all costs and then using the entry fees to Donate to the Waco Center for Youth. I agree with you that 150 is a little steep.

Local Businessman will step up... I have an advertising schedule and it's very attractive. Television time for the dollars spent is unheard of.

18 minutes of Primetime 6 and 10 news, plus the show entetainment tonight. I plan to divide the costs between the 3 major sponsors and it becomes more affordable that way.

We still have a lot of pieces to puzzel to put together. I need confirmation from at least one Title sponsor and I will Spring into Action.

Ck I still need 30 teams to sign up. Help out any way you can Call me 254-722-2931

this looks like an excellent payout structure....

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Don't know anything about tournament fishing, but MamaBoxer and I would be very interested in this. So add another team to the list.
