Went out today , can't stay away

Current was very strong, fast and cloudy as one would expect a day after a strong rain.
Didn't catch any thing . Saw a lot of really big junk in the water like two giant plastic tubes and a huge tarp caught on a large stump. Stuff so big I would expect some one to come looking for it.
There was a lot of top water fish activity, including gar.
I also saw the arrival of some large hybrids with their dorsal fan fins surfacing on the top, maybe gulping air.
Some kids down their said they caught 8 big fish including gar. I noticed they had a big jug of chicken guts.
I am guessing that fishing won't be worth a hoot until Tuesday if it doesn't rain again.

it seems every fish is a hybrid until its landed.

see also is it a hybrid / I think its a hybrid

I think the usually waiting period is 2-3 days after this much rain. Fish are still spawning in some creeks though and the run is not over.

I only fish on days that end in Y!

King, that's was all I was able to catch yesterday, 4 of those and a couple of catfish. All on Road Runners. On a side note, could help noticing your boots, do they provide enough traction for the slippery bank at Rowlett?
