Bout to get off work and start rigging up for the trip to caddo (first one of the year for Caddo). I know we have been getting lots of weird weather patterns (I live in Tyler) wanted to see if there were any fellow anglers that have been out there this past week and could give a little knowledge of the patterns youre seeing and if making the trip is worth it.
No NOT looking for honey holes, just testing the waters for how yall have been doing on Caddo. Any tips or advice GREATLY appreciated!

Flipping shallow trees. Pines releasing a lot of water so lake is on rise and getting muddy again. Flukes have been working good. 90 percent of Texas side lake is post spawn. Top water bite is hit or miss also. I've been covering lots water. Been mainly flipping deeper trees looking for bigger fish. Will bite just bout anything also. I've yet find a special bait this year

Thank you Mudd! Gonna try my best and see what happens. Any key features to look for that you have seen more successful?

20 won 100 boat tourny today. Usually takes 25 plus to win in that group so fishing has slowed. Senko will get u the bites. Specially wacky rig

I live in Tyler also and fish Caddo a few times a year, I usually don't start until May.
I hit the small groups of trees close to the tree islands, black with blue flake senko, half a nail weight in the end. Hit the tree, wait a sec and slowly pull up then releasing so it'll fall back to the tree and hold on.

I was there Sunday and I had trouble finding them. I only fished a couple of hours first thing in the AM though. Caught one on a buzzbait before the sun got too high and that was it. Not that more time would have yielded a better result with my fishing skills....or lack thereof.
It rained a TON out there this weekend downpour middle of Saturday followed by major sotrm around 2AM Sunday morning. I bet there was well over 1.5 - 2 inches (maybe more). Lots of current and high, dirty water.
