This! Went thru pack after pack of senkos before I started using these. Now one senko can last hours and you can throw it without worry about it coming off and leaving you backlashed beyond repair.

Cabelas "Go-To" Stick Bait

I use these with the O-Ring already molded into the worm.....also places hook in correct position unlike the O-Rings you add yourself. They are often on sale and when they are I stock up.

Read an article a year or so ago about using two o rings instead of one to get your circle hook to line up like it would if you weren't useing o rings. Just cross the rings and slide your hook between the rings and the worm. Better hook set, more caught fish! I love this set up.

This +1 - Sometimes I can get 8-10 fish off of one Senko this way. My favorite color is black with blue fleck, but I also fish green pumpkin/black fleck and watermelon/red fleck once in a while.

Hope this helps.

Gamakatsu finessse wide gap hooks, 1/0 or 2/0, o-wacky tool to slide your o rings in place also. My buddies and always use pliers to bend hook out of line so point and shank are offset about 1/8 inch. This causes the hook to rotate in fishes mouth, resulting in hookup in roof of mouth the majority of the time. You will miss a lot fewer fish on hook set also by doing this.

I personally don't like the O-ring. I like the bait as naked and natural as possible. The Big Bite Trick Sticks hold up well and will get you bit. I like the Zoom Trick worm as well. If the fish are being difficult I will rig a trick stick and trick worm together. It gives the presentation a different look and it works. I call it the "double wacky rig". It's goofy but it works.

Donald, that is a really good tip about the heat shrinking!

Just wondering: Is it only an advantage in the retention/longevity of the worm; or, will it actually improve hook-up rates over a traditional "hook through the worm" using no rings?

Thanks! Brad

I only use Yamamoto Senko, you can catch them on sale if you do some digging. This is what I use to rig mine and it works great.

Correct.. You will need two sizes 1/2 inch for the 6" and 7" senkos. Cut it into 1/2 inch pieces with scissors. Slide it on the senko to the center point. Hit it briefly on both sides with a lighter. It will shrink down tight. I like to use the clear but it is hard to find.

- 1/4 inch for the trick worms.

Hook the hook straight through the middle of the plastic and senko, then put the weed guard in place. The hook will ride in the upright position and the hook up ratio will be much better.
