Throw a buzzbait in 35 feet of water! They are schooling right now in the middle of the lake!

Went out yesterday afternoon. While I almost never fish this lake even though it is less than 2mi from my house, a buddy and I just wanted to get out. You can go out and throw crank baits along the dam and it's about a 100% chance you will get at least one. Yesterday nope. I ended up getting one 11" hybrid about 7:30pm over on the mouth ( the outermost one on the main lake) of the cove to the hot water discharge on a small squarebill. We talked to a few guys that were practicing for this tournament today and they got skunked.
I wish I could get someone who knows the lake and has had some success to show me one afternoon. Not only would I use my boat/gas, but would buy them lunch or supper. I know there are some big fish in there, but I can't find them. Heck I've never caught more than two in one day out there.

If you think you're fishing deep, fish deeper and a little more deeper!! So how deep did you fish to win the tournament?

One or two in a day is the best that I have done. They were big fish though. I actually have never had luck at the dam. I have in the little creek that runs back to the ramp on the Ft. Worth side, near the old silo and along the buoys outside of Bowman ramp.

The person that won the tournament today got most of his fish at the dam.

first was 18. Second third and fourth all had 10.
We caught one for 3 in about 3 ft of water next to timber first thing. Zeroed the rest of the day. Our spots got hammered. Saw at least 10 different boats fish the same spot we caught ours at.

35 boats 60 per boat, so total of 2100 paid. Not sure what the payout was but paid 4 and bb was 175 split between two.
