I am going to look at a 1998 Ranger 461VS tomorrow. It has a 150 Merc EFI. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this boat? Thanks.

The 461VS was the Ranger tournament boat for BASS. The 150 was for the BASS rules of the time. BASS went to a 250 horsepower limit in 1998 and so the boats production was shortened. Everyone had to have a larger boat.
Its a wonderful boat though.

I run a 93 482. Great boats if taken care of Mudd runs the boat I sold two years ago. I bought it in 2003. Like he said, great boat if you take care of it. Don't expect it to handle rough water like a new 20' boat but it'll scoot along with the 150.
