Guys and Gals, I am planning a long weekend soon and wanted to ask what is the best way to bait a hole and fish it for three days? Should I load up on range cubes and milo or should I look at other alternatives?
Plans are to bait the hole on Friday am and fish until late Sunday and hopefully catch and keep em coming all weekend using punch bait as bait.
Ttrying to plan ahead so I have everything I need in advance.
Thank you and happy fishing!

I've had good luck chumming with soured wheat and range cubes and fishing punch bait in the past. Found a cove and chummed it the day before and a little more when I got there to fish and had pretty constant bites. The key is not overchumming the spot so the fish eat the chum and not your bait.

I have used old burlap sacks full of range cubes to 5 gallon buckets with holes drilled and full of sour maze. I also use the legs off of old blue jeans and stuff it with maze. The biggest question is where you plan on baiting a hole

Headed to Gibbons Creek so I will probably locate a channel in the wooded portion and set up chum sack in that area.

I normally only bait a hole that I know has the potential to attract fish like trees or near rocks. I mostly drift these days

I agree with the range cubes but the stink don't bother me. My dad has been making stink bait on tawakoni for years and I'm use to having to wear the smell off lol

i have been talking to some commercial cat fishermen. they use a compressed cheese and soybean flags and put that in there traps or they break down the 6lb block in junk and in chum sacks on tree limbs and trunks of the tree i just it on only tracks small bait bit but it will also draw in big blues and channels I bought 2 of the bricks and am going to try them out this weekend i have just never had any luck with rangs or cotton seed cakes

I've used sour milo a few days in advance with good results.

I bought a shoe laundry bag (mesh bag) you just unzip it and fill with range cubes with a chunk of old cheese in the middle of the bag came back two days later and caught well. When I took it up today I only had part of the cheese left.

With range cubes I usually will bait several spots then when Im done come back and fish them. Range cubes last a good while. In my experience they take a little while to draw fish in. Often times I will bait a hole with cubes in the morning and catch a ton of fish there later in the day. With that said soured wheat is much better but it stinks and takes a little planning.

Sorry if this comes across as silly but do the range cubes sink on their own? Or do you out them in a sack or bucket and sink them?
If it ain't yours don't mess with it! Need a friendly place to talk hunting? www.talkhunting.com

You will need %20 or better to get them down. If you sour maze, corn or wheat it will sink as well. But it has to be soured to get it down.
