Ray Roberts seems to really be getting a love/hate relationship with a lot of people! The fact that it came up almost 2 feet in the last two weeks really seems to have some fish spread out. Overall the fishing has honestly been pretty good during the week and tough on weekends. Cold fronts really make things tough on this lake.

Last week was a GREAT week until Friday at noon. We caught lots of fish every day this week. Big girls really ate well Wednesday and Thursday with Thursdays customer breaking his PB and catching an 8.25 off of a bed. Most fish came off of moving baits really shallow. Water clarity hasn't seemed to make a huge difference in bait selections. Chatterbaits and spinnerbaits have been key for me. Flukes are starting to play a big role in most of my trips as well. Flipping stumps is always good but it just takes finding the right area to have some fish. Water temps range from about 63-74 over the lake so all of the creeks seem to be holding spawning fish. The key right now on this lake is to SLOW DOWN. It's hard to do that sometimes but I promise it will change your luck. Slow and thorough makes a huge difference. Here are a few pics I snapped from last week. I have a little availability left in April and May has lots of openings for anyone wanting some help learning the lake! Hope to see everyone out there soon!

Thanks. Good report. Everyone else is tight lipped about RR. Fished Saturday , only 5 bites. Would love a chance at redemption...

Fished Sat as well, was tough. Caught 5 in about 5 hours. Will be interesting to see what BassChamps does with the stormy weather later in the week.

I went yesterday and could not boat any. Fished some decent looking water.

Good report Cody. I fished Ray Bob for four weekends and just haven't been doing very well. I'd like to complain about the rain and stained water but I can't. We need it so bad and it would be nice to see the lake back to where it should be again. I knew when it finally came up fishing would be tough but its a small price to pay for what we need around here. Personally I like the challenge when fishing is tough. I think it makes me a better fisherman.

Thanks for the update Cody. With the chance of rain this week there is probably going to be more rise and more muddy water coming in the lake. I wont complain at all. We NEED the the water.

No problem guys! The lake has actually come up substantially since Saturday. I couldn't believe it today. Fishing was great though! Everyone seems to love the working mans trips in the evening! The fish actually bite pretty well in the evenings! Just got home from a pretty decent outing. I assume champs will be very tough. SO many weeds on the shoreline right now!

Yeah I will be back on for next weeks working mans. Laying out this week because of the champs. Just hoping I can string a couple of the bigger ones together.
