They have just set our high school class reunion date for the weekend of Oct 23rd. Football game and the Fall Festival in Sulphur Springs. Since I'll be near Lake Fork, I was wondering what the fishing is like at that time of year. The Yantis, TX web site said the average temperature for mid Oct. is 60 degrees. About the same as mid April. But then we all know Texas weather. LOL

Wonder if it would be worth flying in a few days early to do a little fly fishing? I'd be happy to catch some bluegill on my Tenkara rod.
I'll definatly need to fish with a guide.
Aloha,
Stan

I've never fished Lake Fork before, so no idea as to whether or not that would be a good time of year. But I do know that if you're looking for a fly guide that Rob Woodruff would be a good bet. He's really well respected on the LMF as a trout guide, but I think he spends most of his time fishing Lake Fork for big bass.
