Stan, if you want to use artificial baits, some of the goto's are sassy shad, swim shad, grubs. You can use any number of shad heads or bucktail jigs.
Top water baits like pencil poppers and such are also great baits.

The Guides Goto bait is live shad. But that take a good bait well and some research into how to keep shad alive. You'ld want to probably, use this bait on a carolina type rig.

Rattle traps have caught a fair share also and just about any number of hard baits and spinners can work also.

I suggest you read these pages, a lot and also any other amount of information that is available on the 'ok inter webs.

These seem to work pretty well.

The first picture is an 18lb striper caught at night on a Gizz 4. The second picture is a hybrid striper caught at night on a top water Smack Jack. The third is a 17 lb striper caught on a Flitterbait. All from Smack Tackle.

I troll with Rapala DD Huskey Blue glass and SR 9 Shad rap in the Black Silver if sun is shinning and gold black if it is cloudy. Fished 2 days this weekend caught 40 fish with 7 overs. 4 people on my boat running 3 rods on braid. Grandson and I caught personal best and his girlfriend caught one over 10#. Her first trip out.

Try some of these! Selling these jig heads to lots of guides on Texoma!

https://moestackleshop.com/shop/jig-heads/fastguy-sassy-shad-jig-heads/

5" 4" Sassy Shad on a 1oz Jig Head. If the bait is small try a cocamoe minnow!
