I know they say "there's no such thing as a bad day fishing" ....but I know for a fact there is definitely such thing as a bad day boating... and those days can ruin any good day of fishing.

Glad to hear everyone is okay. Looks like it sheered the mount off the motor mount and only the trim was holding it on? That is wild. First 2 pictures I was thinking this happened at the ramp... then I scrolled onto picture number 3 and my jaw dropped! OMG

I remember seeing a thread somewhere else about "what kind of stuff have you dropped in the lake?" -- I think this would take the cake.

We fished the tourney out there last night. Shotgun takeoff about a minute in and high winds and too many boats close together. Took a couple rogue waves too big for the boat at that speed and it threw us hard to the left and snapped the motor mount right off the jack plate. Lower unit bottom fin snapped as it hit the back left of the boat. Some how some way god kept both of us in the boat barely. Then the last 2 guys that took off seen us and stopped in what i believe was an aluminum bass tracker and pulled us in. We had several people help us get everything loaded and on the trailer. Its crazy just how fast things can go wrong.

I almost went to the tournament last night but didn't at the last minute. I'm glad you guys made it out ok. Bonus that your motor hung on.
