I'm not fishing any tourneys on Fork and don't plan to anytime soon. I'm headed there with 3 other guys split between 2 boats. I've been to Fork one other time before and between the front that moved in the day before we got there and the one that moved in while we were there, we caught 1 fish in 3 days.

I'm not asking for Coords, but generalized areas would be awesome info. I've been reading the guide threads, and most of those are pretty vague on what works, but I can tell you swim baits will be one of the first things I try. I still don't know where to go though. We will be staying on the WEST side of the lake, about mid ways between the dam and bridge.

I don't mind running a little but would like to try and have some idea of where to start. I don't know the names of all the coves either.

If you'd rather not post the info, please feel free to PM me. Thanks in advance for any help.

There is a app you can download on your phone called navionics. it will give you tips on fishing spots as well as the names of all the coves ect.. i think its a one time fee of $9.99 to down load the app. it also shows you where you are located on the lake. i am knew to fishing out of a boat so i have found this app very helpful

Every cove is going to hold quite a few fish this time of year. There are probably not many that I would not try. I don't sight fish very much so I tend to select something that is going to have a little wind blowing in it and select my areas according to wind speed and direction. If the whole cove is stacked with boats, I stay out in the mouth or in the creek to throw swim baits.
Just keep chunking it and try different depths around the cover.

seriously the time you are going drop the TM in every cove that looks good to you and it should catch... I know that does not help but I think the way the water is up and she is fishing you will be fine.

If you're going to be fishing for more than a day, try to grab a guide for the first day. You and your buddies could split the cost for a day with a guide and split up fishing half days. It'll make a big difference in your confidence and luck for the rest of your trip.

Flyer, I mentioned a tip regarding the same issue for Limestone, that Bill Wilcox fishes these lakes and at the end of his Honey Hole program, he always shows his audience exactly where he went, where he caught his fish. During his programs, he also discusses what he is using.

Just go to his webpage or straight to YouTube and search for Honey Hole and Lake Fork and you will find his and other good material. You can go to TPWD and copy the lake image, then have it in hand as Bill divulges where he caught fish.

And, TPWD has placed fish attractor structures on many lakes, including Fork, so go here:

https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/fish_attractors.phtml

and get the coordinates and find out where they are. These might be good spots. Not at all sure why any more structure would be needed for Fork, but who knows???

Brad

I'm sorry guys, I updated the original post. We will be staying on the WEST side of the lake.

Thanks for the info so far.

I have Navionic. It's usually consulted heavily as well as Gogle Earth prior to trips. THis one is no exception.

I have the brush piles loaded into my graph. All 3 of them. ninja

I will checkout Honey Hole. May look it up on my phone today and watch it.

Duck Call cove in Birch and creek channel and points leading into it; maybe deeper into Birch too, all the way back to the power lines, just depends on what stage the spawn is in; Magee; maybe the dam close to the point w/ the oil well on it, just a bit n of Magee on the same side of the lake. All are good spots this time of year on the west side of the lake. But like others have said, it shouldn't be hard to find fish, especially since the spawn got knocked back because of the cold.
