Hey guys,
Really trying to get out there in the ocean this weekend if possible. I'm dying to get some artificials working in the surf (or bays if bank is an option) for a couple of hours saturday or sunday, or get my kids in the surfside jetty or surf fishing if there are things eating out there.
Any reports, or better luck at the galveston piers?
Any other places to safely get the kids on some fish?
Thanks a lot

I haven't been out in a while, but 91st pier had some good reports of reds, black drum, whiting, on their site for the past few days.

Jim,
went with wife and kids to the Hill Country to get a glimpse of the wildflowers. Youngest is running around with a cold and the other 2 aren't in tiptop shape either, so with a pending trip to Peru next week we held off the potential cold and wetness. May be able to pull something this next Monday.

Saw a fb post of a guy catching a good amount of sheephead down at surfside. That and red is all your going to get at surfside this time.

Kids would be happy just catching croakers and whiting, but I wouldn't mind getting a red on the line. Was it on the jetty or off the beach?

The jetty brother. There arnt much off the beach near the jetty beside some crab. Go to the jetty. No need to throw far for those croakers. Little far for reds. Beach or channel side have reds.

My next door neighbor caught a couple of Spanish mackerel Friday. I have been trying to get out there but I've been trying to get the honeydo's done before the surf warms up nice.
