I just started a 6 month contract with a home builder in Belton. Any help on where I can drop a line around here? I have scouted Lake Belton but it looks to have really heavy traffic. I have a kayak, so I was trying to get into the Leon River or any other waters. Any suggestions will be gladly welcomed and I will try them all.

Your next closest is Stillhouse, but Granger is prob a better option due to the lake level.

If you have facebook, look up and join CENTEX pond hoppers and Central Texas Kayak fishing. Lots of good info/reports are posted almost daily usually pertaining to lake Belton and Still house.

Yep. If no Facebook, right now the warmest water is near the 36 bridge on Belton. Muddy and shallow but the whites and crappie are doing decent. Some cats too. If you are after bass, it's a further paddle right now. Look for a really good bite in about three weeks for almost all species.
