Ok fellas, I need some input here. What is going on with Tawakoni? This time last year it was hammer time, I have fished 60-65 degree water 1-15' and zero. Its hard to get frustrated this time of year, but I am curious if anyone else is having the same issues?

It has been off and on the past two weeks for me.
Fishing 1.5 off bottom, orange/chart and blue white have been working best. Water temp this morning was 56 in 7 FOW and yes, they are way late in my spots...
12keepers is my best day so far this year

Thanks for the info. I am hoping that it picks up, I am going to keep on trying them. My best day was 2 weeks ago with 8, all NICE females. I guess that is what is concerning to me, no males at all. Thank you for the insight Kodys'Papa!

Lots of fresh grass in 2-3 foot of water fish have alot of Lake shore to hide in. They are shallow just scattered.

You're exactly right, way more "new" cover available. Just got to back up and get a better plan of attack. LOL

Me and a friend fished there yesterday (3/27) and caught only 1 crappie between the two of us. We fished the timber in two different coves but could only manage 1 bite resulting in the 1 crappie. Water temp in one cove was 59.1 and in the other cove it was 63.9. We couldn't believe that either they weren't there yet or they weren't biting. Not sure which. I've always heard that you watch the water temp and when it hits 58 then the spawn is on. Well, what's happen? We did talk about that since the lake had been so low for so long and that gave time for a lot of tall grass and weeds to grow that when we got all of this rain which has raised the lake level around 6 feet plus or minus from it's lowest level earlier this year, that the crappie could have moved in to all of the new cover in the shallow areas where we can't get the boat into now. I wonder if they are there but just back so far in the shallower thick grasses that we just get to them. But if that is the case, surely not all of the crappie would be back there would they? You'd think that we'd have found more than one back in the shallow timber. Does anyone have an idea what is causing the lack of normal spawn?

I Jigged in that shallow grass, from 1-4 ft. and never got a bite. Even tried after dark. I waded it. I got a 65 deg. reading, North of 2 mile bridge. confused
