mosquitos didnt bother me last week at lake Raven but the chiggers ate me up,never been bitten by them before ,its been over a week now and im still itchn,them are some baddddd little bugs.

I wear bug bands from a company called Evergreen Research. You can buy them from Amazon for dirt cheap. One on the ankle and one on the wrist and the mosquitoes disappear.

Mosquitoes are attracted to some people more than others. When entomologists collect them in the wild, they have little traps they hang around where they include dry ice as the attractant. As it evaporates, it of course releases carbon dioxide and mosquitoes are attracted to it.

If someone just naturally emits more CO2, that could be a factor.

And, blood type, too, apparently affects who is bitten, who is not or less so. Type O blood types are the favorite target of mosquitoes according to research.

I am, by the way, Type O and they love me and don't bother my wife at all.

^^^^LOL make sure she eats a banana split a couple of hours before...and to the poster about chiggers...thanks for reminding me..hate those things with a passion.

getting rid of chiggers and their itch is easy. Fill a bathtub about 1/4 the way up and add Clorox Bleach about 2 or 3 cups should do. Then sit down and splash the water over the affected area. Works fast and no stinging or burning like you would think..
