we fished the middle , south bosque and hogg creek today. the water is ranging from 61 to 65 degrees. no crappie shallow. most fish staging on structure in 9 to 13 feet near shallow spawning banks. I think the cold front yesterday threw a monkey wrench in the mix. I will try again likely next week. Lots of vegetation just under the water since the lake rose, and its going to be a fantastic spawn. We fished some community timber for a minute on the way out and they werent there. If I were camping out, I would go set up for night fishing and go tie up at the intersection of the middle bosque and south bosque and fish the middle of the rivers. The fish are moving in and out at night probing the shallows for spawning spots. Other than that maybe try to find some deep brush in ther main lake near river intrances
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

They've been off and on, when we have caught a mess it's been 3-4' off of bank structures. Rivers are good bet, major highways like leanin post said.

It's in great shape, but they pulled back the tarp on at Ridgewood this week and there are still live mussels. I haven't heard anyone say they have found them somewhere else. I was going today, but got stuck with honey do's. I think South 40 crowd will be out today, so a lot of my holes will be filled by fast boats with big jigs and flat bills.

the carp are frolicking in the shallows , they sure do make quite the ruckus.
