Has anyone fished Lake of the Ozarks? Any tips? Areas? I will be there painting the inlaws cabin this weekend, hoping to get on the water for a few hours!

I have a place up there and have fished it quite a few times. To the post about getting off the water by 11..yes it can get very rough on weekends from boat (cruiser) traffic. This time of year not so bad, but basically from Memorial Day to Labor Day - it's a roller coaster.

For fishing, you can catch fish just about anywhere on the lake. Many believe that the fishing is best from the Bagnell Dam to about the 12MM -- and including the Gravois Arm of the lake. You could spend 5 years just fishing this portion, catching fish, and still only be 50% into discovering the sweet spots.

LOTO is a beautiful body of water and in a beautiful part of Missouri. Careful, you might get hooked yourself.

Typical Deep Midwestern limestone lake. Fish Boat Docks, points, and drop offs. The lake of the Ozarks is the most developed fresh water lake in the country. It might not be too bad yet, but after easter you best be off the water by about 0900 or run the risk of the crazies getting you.

Don't worry too much about the big boats yet, if the air temp. gets up there then they'll be out. Fishing been pretty good Dam to the mouth of the Gravois. Water temperature running about 44 - 47* depending on the sun, supposed to spit "snow" this weekend soooo....!! Jerkbaits and jigs plus sometime a-rigs working ... 5-15 Ft. Have fun painting!!
