 what do you look for when fishing for sandbass

Hey guys I recently got a job at the edge of Grand Prairie and Ft Worth, and I can see a loop of the Trinity nearby I was wondering what do you look for when looking for a place to catch sandbass. What makes one area different from another .Basically I guess I don't know enough abut the species and was hoping for some help from the more experienced members.

Humps and drops offs and slopes. Bottom changes.

I know a couple good creeks around Grand Prairie. All of of mountain creek lake though, so I don't know if it would be a good idea to eat them. I just like reeling them in

I used to fish that channel when I went to school at DBU.
Make sure you are strapped when down there...

A hard bottom and bait fish like shad or skip jacks. Also wind blowing bait fish on a point.
