It's hard with a lot of their reels because they keep them locked up. I actually bought the h2o xpress ethos 7'3" heavy action rod for $40 yesterday as well. Guess it was my lucky day...

I picked up 24 packs of grande bass rattle snakes today in Arlington .68 cents each. Most were regular price the .68 cents colors were mixed in.

That has happened to me a couple of times. Before I buy anything I scan it first. Not sure what they do but bought enough Spot Remover at .25 each, they were marked at 5.49, to last me years

I've gotten several good deals at Academy by scanning items especially if it has one of their sale tags on it. Got a Vendetta rod for $39 although the tag said $69, normal price was $79. If you have the time you should play the scan game

I picked up some grade bass rattle snakes a few weeks ago and they couldn't get them to scan or ring up hand typing them in after several people trying they tossed them in a bag and said have a good day. Best deal I have found at academy.

Picked a mettle up today and the guy behind the counter scanned it before handing it to me, guess it's becoming a problem... Not that I mind paying $40 for that reel, but $10 would have been better.

Metal reals at 40 bucks great deal...When we were getting Pinnacle pro 100s for 49.00 bucks was awesome..Love me some Academy..

Was not impressed at all with my first experience with the mettle. It was like the drag kept sticking I'd go to cast and it would lock up and every once in a while it would cast just fine. I took it all apart and cleaned/oiled it and still the same thing so I took it back and bought a premiere. This reel will cast a mile and very smooth I looked for another at the cherry Ln location and they didn't have anymore. It did just fine when I hooked a 35lb flathead on a white crankbait the other day out of lale worth.
