I've never fished Lake McQueeney and I'd like to, but I'm not sure of any ramp open to get on the lake. Does anyone know how to get on the lake? Thank you. Looking at trying for crappie on either lake Dunlap or lake McQueeney if I can find a way on McQueeney this weekend. I'd also appreciate any tips on any of the above lakes. Thanks.

There is no public ramp for Mcqueeney. The only ramp that the public can use is located in the Logs Wood Subdivision off of FM 725. The ramp is located at an gas easement and is used by the gas company to check their lines. The ramp is in pretty bad shape. I would not launch a 21 foot boat on it. I would only launch smaller boats 18 footers or less. That is just me. I have seen 21 footers being launched without problems and I have also seen boats launched there that had problems. Again the ramp is in bad shape. 16 to 18 footers, kayaks, and canoes can be launched usually with no problems at all.

You've mentioned the Logs Wood Subdivision to me in the past. Is that the ramp off of Ridgeroad Drive? You mentioned it would be quite a paddle to get to the main lake (~4 mi by my estimation) so I was thinking I am in the right spot.
Wishing I was in my kayak.

Street view on Google shows a white with red trim sign "private boat ramp". I bet that's the place.

Anglers have used that ramp for years without any problems. The property is an easement for the gas company. I think the gas company owns the property but I may be wrong. One thing I know for sure. There is no public boat ramp for Mcqueeney and that is another story all of it's own.

Went today. Caught about 6-8 short bass in 2-4' and a couple big bluegill. Tossing jigs. I used a bag of new glo jigs that are glow and light blue, they tore them up. Just not crappie. Sure glad my friends PM'd me about a hot spot to try for crappie. I'm new to zip code and didn't know where to look. I understand keeping a hot spot to yourself but when it takes 4hrs of driving, and just trying to catch my first guadalupe crappie,it just ain't right. I have Passed on my knowlege of somerville and jig tying recently. Guess yall didn't know I was asking for help. Don't worry,I'm threw with ya. Boo hoo,Good luck
