Hello all, I'm new to Striper fishing and had a couple questions.

I'm going to Lake Murray over the weekend and was wondering if anyone knew if there were sand bass and Striper in that lake.

What is the best way to find them and how do I fish for them?

Thanks for your help!!!

There's a few sand bass. Lake Murray is known for Smallmouth. I used to fish up there some. Once I started fishing Texoma I quit going.

Murray's a beautiful Lake with very clear water

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

welcome I used to fish Murrey on occasion. I was fishing a Carolina rig for small-mouth usually. I noticed I could see my plastic bait dragging bottom, the water was so clear. I looked at my depth finder and it said the bottom was 18 ft.! I could also see fish swimming around. I don't think it's always like that but it was that day. I think it has sand bass, small-mouth, and crappie. I'm not sure about stripers or hybrids. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for the kind Welcome and the tips. I'm taking two other guys who don't fish so I would like to put them on numbers. I'm not too worried about breed of fish as much as numbers. I will try for small mouth and see if I can find some crappie.

Not that far to Texoma. You can launch at Juniper West. I have never caught them, but I have heard that Murry has the best eating fish called Walleye. I have fished for them in other lakes in OK. Big night crawlers on points and usually around rip-rap. Good luck and welcome to the chatter pages!
