water is muddy. Was there at Old Alton between 11am and 1pm, did not see anyone caught anything. People come and go. Game Warden caught some folks net casting with a full cooler of hybrids and sandies. Good job.

How high off the water are those pipes? Do you have to pull your kayaks across the bank or can you clear them?

Heading Up to Old Alton bridge after work tomorrow. Any advice on the best artificial lure to use for the hybrids ?
I have 1 or 2 rattle traps ? I assume color won't matter in that brown water ? Any thing special you are doing to fight the amount of current that is flowing , I don't see how a rattle trap would get down very far??
Appreciate any advice, promise to report back if any suggestions work out.
Thanks in advance.

has anyone been out there today? Wanted to go after work but forgot my clothes at home so I would have to go buy some before I go.

I just got back from Hickory. A few people got a few fish upstream from the bridge. water is coffee colored and in my opinion it needs to clear a bit. Lots of hybrids tail slapping the water but won't bite. After this next rain hopefully the females will start heading up.

I was up there this morning. Not many people catching fish. Even fewer catching a lot of fish. Had fun anyways.
Does the water get much clearer out there?

Was at Alton Bridge 4pm to 7pm .. Got 7 sandies and 1 hybrid, all on a 1/8 road runner and pear curly tail. I thru larger stuff, but nothing took the bigger stuff. The hybrids seem to show up and most people got one and they where gone. Biggest hybrid was caught on large minnow. Water was moving slow, very brown. My opinion throw something that vibrates and make tons of casts until you get lucky . -later
