Headed there this weekend to pre-fish for a tourney. Anyone have anything? I've searched here and via Google with ZERO to be found. Thanks

That's what I was thinking. I was on it two years for a tourney in January and it was brutal. Water temps in the 40's and lots of zero's. Luckily we had a 2.5 lb keeper on a crankbait. I plan on covering lots of water and looking...

Boat all you can the first hour.....this lake doesn't like tournaments, especially larger ones with lots of boat traffic. The first hour is crititcal........hit the back water along the shores.........

Century Bass Club was there weekend before last and very few fish were caught, but I have been there early in the year before and seen 20 lb sacks. Me and a partner won a tournament years ago in March with a 20 lb bag and 9 lber and another year one of our Century bass members caught a 12 lber during our tournament that I believe was in February or March.

I was out there earlier this month right after all the rain, fishing was terrible as the water was muddy and cold. Only 6fish weighed in for 30 people and my first 0 in a long time(im usually good for 1 14incher haha). With the water warmed up and lake level stable I bet the fishing will be better, good luck to you!

My tourney is with the Forney Bass Club the third Saturday in April. I'm getting a head start. We had Martin Creek in January and February and with so many boats there every weekend I elected not to do much pre-fishing. We had Pines this month and with the lake rising to over 8.5 ft high and coming up 6 ft in March, once again I chose not to pre-fish. We did OK at Pines finishing 7th out of 32 but I need time on this lake. I don't like surprises and will take the time to figure it out.

Manhunter,

I'm going to probably go out there Sunday. I went prefishing with my uncle and cousin when we fished it a few years ago. My uncle caught 3 nice ones in about 10 minutes and we got nothin' the rest of the day. The whole time we were fishing it I was thinking, we need to fish here in the spawn. I'm excited about it! We have got to make up for that bad day 2 we had on Pines!
