I got in the new water pump parts but the special adhesive the manual calls for, OMC Adhesive M, is on backorder. Rather than miss the next two weeks of fishing, I'd sure like to find a suitable substitute. After doing some online research, I see that 3M Scotch-Grip Adhesive # 847, Marprox Sealer 1000, or Boat Armor 1000, is the same stuff. Then I called around and nobody has any of it without special ordering. Isn't there anything I can pick up at the auto parts store that will work ok as a substitute? I have to believe there's something more readily available that people use when they do the water pump/impeller. Thanks.

Locktight red permaseal. In about an 8oz tube best I have found. Sets pretty quick. Used alot for sealing crankcase`s. If you cannot find it, use black atomotive rtv. Just let set for 24 hr`s before running motor on water. Good Luck

All back together and working fine now. I ended up using Permatex high-tack gasket sealer. We're headed out to the lake now for testing. Thanks for the help.
Update: Back from the lake now. Ran all over Ray Hubbard for two hours. Runs great. Thanks again.
