Had a guy in a John boat cut us off at 6:45 and he caught a 23 7/8. He realized he cut us off, apologizes and we went on. 20 yards later a triton cuts us off and catches a nice under on his first cast. He apologizes and we go on. Then a guy next to us catches an over. At that point I was Jeff kriet all over. Can't let it get to you. We did catch some slots and a couple of unders that were not big enough. Can't wait till next year.

I made up my mind to only fish for an over because I thought that's what it would take to win a truck. I wasn't going to weigh in an under because it would take an hour away from fishing to maybe win a hundred bucks. Fished baits that would produce a big one but only caught slot fish. That's ok though, I am glad I stuck with my plan. I

Mainly fished the west side, but tried all over the lake. We caught 3 fish and broke one off all on the same stretch of bank. 3 of which were in about 6in-1ft of water in some flooded vegetation. We found that area about 1:45 and caught a 2.43 under to weigh in the last hour. Also had a 1.75 the first hour that was able to cash one of the bonus checks. All in all it was a rough day but the 2 unders we did catch were good enough to pay off and cover most of the expenses. Will be back again next year Taxes permitting

Afternoon we spoke to at least seven boats that had not boated a fish all day Sunday. It was TUFF for us too!

Well, when this happened, I knew I wanted to come on here and share my experience with you guys. I'm not going to talk much about the fishing, because I pretty well stunk it up in that section. We fished most of the day on Friday, had a pretty good time, no issues. Launched Saturday morning at the public 154 ramp heading up the boat lane in the east arm. Didn't even make it to Taylor before my motor started vibrating excessively. Came off plane and lifted the motor. I was missing a blade off my Fury prop. This was about 7:30. I had a good friend from my college days at A&M in town, and I didn't want to let this ruin his trip. I could have gotten on the trolling motor and went back to the ramp, but I really wanted my friend to have an opportunity to fish, and I didn't know how long it would take. So I asked a gentleman who was fishing at the mouth of Taylor if I could get a ride back to the public ramp, and he did so without hesitation and wouldn't take a dime for helping me out so much. Thank you to the gentleman; I hope he won a truck.
I ended up going down to Steve's Custom Props in Quitman to pick up a new prop. Steve repaired the Fury prop for me last year in March, so I figured he might be able to explain what could have happened. It was a clean cut across the blade about two inches from the base of the prop and I definitely didn't hit anything on my run in on Friday or in the boat lane on Saturday morning. They really didn't have an explanation, other than that I could have hit something and weakened the blade. Weird, but either way, I racked up a nice bill on a lightly used prop (a little cheaper than retail) there.
To cut this long story a little shorter, I left Steve's and went back to the ramp. I called a Lake Fork guide that I know and he met me at the ramp and gave me a ride back to Taylor. Even took time to make sure I made it out of Taylor and didn't have any trouble. He too didn't accept a dime for giving me a ride back to my boat. Thank you Richie White. I was back on the water and fishing around 9 am. Where else can you go and have something like this happen and be back fishing in an hour and a half (without a spare prop)? Lake Fork and the surrounding businesses are great all-around.

My partner and I ran back to our spot on the West end of the Lake early about 0515 sat on the spot we wanted to start until first cast. We stayed in this one area until we had a couple of good unders to weigh and then ran to the marina. One of the unders was good enough for second in the 0900 hour. I had contemplated waiting it out knowing that there was a big over in the tank. I talked it over with the guy who had the over and decided I would go ahead with just a few minutes before scales closed. Im glad I didn't waste an whole hour because an under was just not enough this year for a truck. Biggest mistake of the day was not going right back to the spot we caught our morning fish. Went back late in the afternoon and the bite was still on. Didn't manage a bite at any other spot all day.

Woke up at 6:30 got some fuel in the boat brought back a few sausage egg and cheese biscuits from Pay N Save to the trailer for the wife and launched out about 8:00. Realized I left my box of sinkers and hooks in my partners boat so I had to track him down then start fishing. I guess it was around 8:30ish. By 10:30 I was back at the trailer cooking up some bacon and eggs and coffee because all the casting was making us hungry again Back on the lake at 11:30 managed 3 fish one was a 7plus but a great time with the wife. We fished the way she likes it with no pressure taking it easy!

Hotel didn't adjust their clocks for daylight savings. Woke up an hour late and didn't launch until 6:30 and the rest of the day went like that. Didn't get a bite all day. Heard early that it was starting out tough and didn't think too badly about it until I came in at the end and saw all those overs. I was pissed at myself the entire 2 hour trip home because I couldn't find anything. Did my best to stay dry and it worked all day until headed to the last weight in and some idiot came by and threw a huge wave over the side of my boat that drenched me and got under my rain gear.
About the only bright thing that came from the trip was that I didn't sink my boat.

so if you look back at all the post and see where "no fish" were caught,,,,,can you make a call as to where the fish were caught. ?????? although I did see one or 2 post where the poster caught zero and boats that came in around them caught fish. that seems "fishy" to me.
