Due to extra bills I co-signed on and now I have to pay (Or get sued) I'm going to have to let my 2010 Nitro Z7 go. I need some information about where to find out what my boat is actually worth. I hate to let it go but I have no choice. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is my rule of thumb on that price boat. The boat is 5 years old. Take your purchase price then deduct the follow years.

- 1st year subtract $5,000
- 2nd through 5th year deduct another $4,000.

The boat should sell for about 9 to 10 thousand less than you payed for it.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

Look online pretending you are "buying" a 2010 Nitro Z7 and check Craigslist, southeasttexas.com, Boattrader, etc. Compare market prices to NADA Boat value guide and you should have a good starting point on what to ask for your boat. The reason this works is because most potential buyers are doing what I suggested. If you price something fair based on age and condition, it will sell.

nada has a boat section, then check your value there to what everyone else is asking and decide how bad you need to get rid of it

Call people who listed similar boat and ask them if they sold it for the asking price.

$20,000 seems about average right now depending on what graphs, TM, batteries and wether motor is an Optimax or ProXS and condition and motor hours. There are other things to be considered but most are minor.

Its pretty much the way it was on the showroom floor except for the Lowrance 522 on the console and hydraulic steering. 3 new batteries within the last 6 to 8 months. Optimax 150. Not many hours on it. The boat is in excellent condition. Everything works on it. I really hate to let it go but I have no other options. Thanks for the info.

I'll take a stab at it. I think an asking price around $20K or so with a selling price around $18-19K. Now is the time to try to move it, but it will be a price deal. Lot of these type boats out there right now in that price range.

Another option is taking it to a dealer and asking the owner what he would give you for it as wholesale/trade-in and what the retail on the boat is.
You can also have them go over the boat from front to back, do a compression test and check the trailer. Cost is about ~$150 labor to have it checked out completely and get paperwork with what might be broken on the boat and what it costs to fix anything that is not right. Might make for a quicker sale by already having it checked out.
