I have a friend who is asking me if he should buy a Pfluger Reel? I have never used them. I have Ambasassadeurs, Shimanos, and my favorite for the money, Quantums.

Anybody ever used a Pfluger?

I have a Pfluger spincast reel and hate it. Its okay for small fish but once I landed a 10lb cat I fought the reel more than the fish. I have a diawa thats great and looking forward to getting a shimano, but I hate that fluger.

I've got a Pflueger Trion.
You can get them for 70 bucks.
I've also got a Curado and there is no
difference in casting.
I've had the Trion for about 6 months, so I can't comment on durability yet.
Haven't had a problem yet

I have a Trion and several Curados. The Trion has been an OK reel but in my experience the Curado is defiantly worth the extra money. From setup to adjustability and use the Curado's have far out performed the Trion. I will only by Curado's from now on.

I'd rather be driving a Skeeter!

I,m with BassSat, bought a summit at BPS on sale the other day and used it at a tourney and liked it so much I went back and bought another before the sale went off. I think for the price they are a good reel, not the best but along way from the worst.

I bought a couple of Summits on sale from BPS about 3 years ago. Very smooth reel. I've had no problems with them at all.

I have Three, soleris, supreme and the non low profile design. I like all three. They cast a mile once you get the brakes adjusted correctly. A good reel for the price.

I have 3 of them and have had no troubles. For the price you can't go wrong.

I have a Pflueger Criterion that I got from BPS. I want a Curado, but I can't quite bring myself to spend that kind of $$$$. The night I bought this reel, I stopped at the tank at BPS to listen to a guide doing a seminar on fishing plastic worms. I chatted with him after he was done and he told me that he uses Pflueger Criterion reels on his 'customer' rigs and has never had any problems with them. I like mine and would recommend it to others. It's smooth and so far has been durable.
