Thinking of hitting the coast for a few days. Which you think would be better, Rockport, Matagorda, or Port O connor? Will be doing bank fishing, no boat

Rockport has more wade spots than POC.

if you want to catch big reds or black drum bring some heavy rod and go to copano peir. Its expensive but worth it.

It's the time of year that some wade fishing locations become 'ambush points' for trout, flounder, drum as they invade the bays in the Rockport bay system.

... water temps are getting there, 67* today.

Probably wont be wade fishing, Girlfriend going along as she loves to fish, would like either to fish piers
or easy bank fishing. Went to Rockport last year and Port A the year before but haven't been to Matagorda in 20+ years and have never been to port o connor. Always like to see different places but would like to catch fish also.

Yep, megladon, agreed fishing is fun, but "catching" is more fun.

There's some good bank fishing locations, just because it's good wade spot doesn't mean you can't catch fish from the bank. The fish are in the area.

Some locations are perfect for bank fishing, watching a good sunset and taking a big red or so home for supper.

Big fish will go shallow.
