Since when did the teams tournament get reschulded? I saw no announcement for it. Just found out about it when I went to pre register for the West tournament this month.

Hey guys! The first tournament for the Western Region is this Saturday, March 28th from 7am to 11am.

We are fishing the Trinity River off of University Blvd. closest to the zoo and the Colonial Golf Course. The meeting area and final measuring area will be at 1501 Merrimac. If you were with us last year, that's where we held the final measuring.

If you haven't done so, please pre-register. As it makes it easier and faster for the director, myself, to get everyone checked in. New anglers, please make sure you read and understand all rules and regulations. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there and meeting new people! Bring some friends for extra points towards Angler of the Year!

Can you give an update every couple days on how many have registered? I would like to know if its worth it to drive over an hour to fish for some $

As of right now, it's at 4, maybe 5. The registrations go through Rus first, then he sends them to whichever director it needs to go to. So there might be more.

That being said, I honestly believe it would be worth it. You know how big those bass are in the river. And we're about in that time of the year when they're even bigger and fatter. Just trying to pump you up! Lol

Thanks for the update Sean...but our definitions of "worth it" may be a little different. I have only been there once, so it would be a lot of luck to do anything there. Hopefully several more sign up so I can make a donation

I completely understand! Realistically, it's at about 7 or 8 right now. There's some guys I know are coming, but either haven't regustered yet, or usually don't. But I'll keep you posted!

I was planning on it, but my wife rescheduled a camping trip for this weekend that was cancelled during the snow and ice.

Sorry to hear that! Looking forward to meeting you out there! Understandable though. The next west event is April 26th at Sunshine Lake in Weatherford.

820 bridge to the spillway by the golf course. The golf course side of the river is off limits, due to it being private property. There's a little island on that side by the spillway that you CAN fish, if you can get to it. But from that island to the walkway bridge by the woodshed, is off limits on that side. Golf course security will run you off.

Sorry if that's confusing to anyone. I'll post a picture after work with everything marked

Here is the picture:

You can fish anywhere on the river in between the two red lines (I30 and western spillway). The 'X' marks the island that you CAN fish. The squiggly line marks the off limits area. You CANNOT fish there. Again, its due to private property. Hope this helps!
