I was approached by at least 4-5 staff at the Allen store. They seemed to be hanging around the rods reels mostly. It was turkey call demo day which made for a noisy experience.

Love Cabelas and shop at Alen several times a month. Always been great to me.

The Ft.Worth Cabelas? Who knows, but the Allen version off Stacy Road was full of helpful salespeople last Wednesday. It was about 7 pm, and we had no complaints.
Addendum: Of all the sporting stores I've visited over the last 6 months, Sports Academy, or is it Academy of Sports, has been tops for me.

Went to the Fort Worth Cabela's yesterday and thought it was great. Got help from two different people and one guy took me to the bargain cave to show me a great deal on a Curado I ended up buying. Only issue I had was spending a couple hundred more than I planned. I thought it was awesome. Good selection and the staff was helpful. The Allen store is my usual Cabela's and has always been good Both stores have always been the best in my book.

Glen the service manager at the FtW cabelas has always done a great job with being knowledgeable, prompt, thorough and courteous. Any questions in that department done hesitate to ask for him.

Looking forward to the store opening up in south Houston area soon. Low expectations on the customer service but the kids will love it...

You want some good fishing service at FW store ask for James. He is a tournament fisherman and knows his stuff. He was there not long ago. Been there since I moved here anyway 3 yrs ago.

Time and Time again Cabelas has gone out of their way help. Whether to locate product and to even check in the back if the size I want is not available. I have never had any issues with Cabelas Customer Service. Top Notch.

I have had good service and not so good service. It is hit and miss for me. I don't get worked up about it though. For the guy who drove for the ammo sale, I would definitely be ticked off about that but that has nothing to do with the store or store manager. That is corporate BS and they should be ashamed. That is the one thing you have to remember is that you are dealing with a corporation at these places. In my experience corporation and customer service rarely go together.

In my opinion the pay rate is no excuse to not help people shopping in their stores. They had an idea what the pay scale was when they applied and then knew what they were being payed before they accepted the job. So if they don't want to dress nice and work in a climate controlled environment helping customers then they can always work outside in the heat and cold digging ditches where they don't have to help anybody for the same pay or less. Agree 100% they knew the pay rate when they went to work there, plus what everyone seems to miss out on is standing around texting or facebooking is not a way to get a pay raise or move up in the company, how many on here has a good job that came from not doing anything but standing around looking stupid, like me, my position in my company came from hard work, and learning everything I could about the field Im in. You don't pay someone to work hard, you work hard to get better pay. EXACTLY
