Question about hydraulic cylinder, a slow leak on the cylinder where it is attached to the motor steering rod. It is on one of the ends of the cylinder and I am just wondering how big of a deal it would be to have repaired or something I can do at the house?

I just bought the kit and did both seals in 15 minutes. Directions are included and very simple to do.

I did the same. It's really not a hard project. I have heard reports of the nuts on each end of the rod being hard to get off sometimes but I didn't have a problem. It calls for a special hydraulic fluid which I tracked down to being an aircraft hydraulic fluid that I bought online if you are interested I can get the name and maybe remember where I bought it from. It doesn't take much.

You can find Sea Star fluid at Cabelas in quart bottles.

Happy fishing, Al

Same here. Bought the kit, watched a couple of YouTube videos, done in 15 minutes. Super easy.

Buy the kit with the wrench. Pretty simple.

Before you replace your seals inspect the rod itself for any semi-deep scratches or Knicks. New seals won't fix the leak if the rod is damaged. Hopefully that's not the case.

Thanks for the info guys and I will look into the kit. I have a qt. of the fluid on a shelf in the shop so should be in good shape.
