So I have been wanting to get better at flipping. What NTX/ETEX lake would you suggest I go to? I'm talking 2-3 rods, jig or 2 and a TX rig and nothing but flipping all day long. Want to improve my technique and learn to get better at it while fishing, not just practicing in my yard. Thx

For practice on the water close to Rockwall--White Rock Lake has large Cattails all around on the inside grass line--loaded with female bass during the spawn. Flip a jig to corners, nooks and crannies and get ready to set the hook.

For bigger bass and flipping timber, I'd go to Fork or Ray Roberts

For bigger bass and flipping grass, I'd go to Monticello. This will be the first non power plant spawn at Monti, and I'd be interested to hear how they are adjusting.

If you don't mind "pay to play" and small water try Mill Creek (vegetation) or Purtis Creek (timber and buckbush). They're a few miles apart and at times can produce a "Grande" on a well pitched bait. 2cents
Almost forgot to mention....avoid both on First Monday trade days sarcastic

Toledo for sure. Just got home. That lake will let you know how good you are at flipping and pitching.

Go to the Pines, as high as it is it should be in the bushes and its the best time to fish the lake.

Frank, take Mark up on the offer. Last year he opened my eyes up on a shallow frog and jig bite at a time I was fishing deep.
