I was reading the rules on BBB. rule 16. Fishing will be done with a rod and reel and artificial lures only. Only one (1) lure per line is permitted. The use of multi-lure rigs (Alabama rigs, umbrella rigs, etc.) are prohibited. Passive lures only (no batteries, lights, vibrating action, etc.). Use of a pork rind is acceptable. No trolling permitted while in the act of fishing. Trolling from place to place however is acceptable. No fishing is permitted with more than one rod at a time. Contestants may fish with non-contestants, but noncontestants may assist contestant only with the landing net.
my question is that any lure the has any internal rattles cant be used? or is it stating some high tech lure that I don't know about. lol
Cast it, reel it, jerk it.

Rattle baits with "manual" rattles will be fine I would think. They are talking about Livingston lures and lazer light type baits that run batteries or some type of fish calling lure.

Tournament is put on by a radio station, they don't know anything about fishing. They are too busy counting their $$$.

By trying to exclude some,,,,,they have effectively excluded a lot: Strike King jig with rattles Rattle Traps,,,,,all Donkey rigs Chicken rigs drop shot rigs with 2 hooks all crank baits with rattles

I see the concern, but can't imagine that all crank baits, chatter baits, and spinnerbaits would be against tournament rules due to "vibrating action." Agree that this is more in reference to something battery powered.

Passive lures, huh? No vibrating action? Technically, any soft plastic with ribs in it creates vibration and chatter bait is out, as is spinnerbait and crankbait.
That rule is written very poorly. Just say no batter-powered lures and no A-Rigs.

Every angler would be disqualified just by the wording "no trolling while in the act of fishing". They need to re-word that.

Good point. I don't even know what they are trying to regulate other than exactly what it says, which would be ridiculous.

I find it funny that they have rules against the A-rig etc., yet allow people who aren't entered to fish with people who are. That's making it too easy on the cheaters
