Does anybody have any experience with either of these. I need to re gelcoat the bottom of my boat and was thinking of doing this instead. Are they the same product just calling it different names or process? Does anyone have any pics of either of these on their boats. Thanks

I had the Gator hull on a 05 ZX225 and it was incredible. Crawled over stumps and rocks and an old steel truss bridge, even beached the boat on jagged rocks without so much as a scratch. I loved it. The one drawback was that when pulling up a ramp after loading you had to hook up the winch and snug it down, the gator hull, while textured, doesn't grip the bunks as well as a smooth hull and it would slide back on the trailer another issue I ran in to was that when I went to sell the boat it scared some people off.

I say that if you plan on keeping the boat for a while do it, if you're going to sell after a couple of years don't.

if you are going to keep it not a bad investment a lot of the time they are put on it is a much less expensive repair than repairing and finishing gel it scares a lot of folks because they don't know what has been covered up.

Ok, Thanks for the input. Ive never seen it on a boat. Does it look ok, or no. I know it wont be smooth like polished gelcoat, the bottom of my boat is black, and I guess im wondering if the gator hull would be a mat black or a gloss black. Just worried that it will look bad. Thx

Why do you need to re-gelcote the bottom of your boat?
