Any ideas on a jig that I can fish through HEAVY brush and timber without staying hung up the whole time? Anyone use a slider jig head for this or something with a weed gaurd?

I've been experimenting with some different bends in my hooks. What do y'all think?

This one is a little out there, but heck, it may work.

Jacob, I use weedless jigheads all the time. They are custom pours from Paul Mullins in Vicco Kentucky. Good Guy!

They have clear weed guards like a bass jig and work really well.

His email is baitmaker2000@hotmail.com

He will pour any size hook & weight you will need for crappie fishing.

I use 1/16oz with a bronze number 2 hook.

Except for the spawn, I fish bamboo most of the time.

It's sticky stuff, I might break off once a week from setting the hook & missing a fish in a bamboo top.

Do you ever miss fish because of the weed guard?

I usually buy 50 packs of 1/8oz. weedless unpainted jig heads on eBay for bout $14. I powder coat them myself seems to be slightly cheaper I think

I think both styles would be plenty "weedless", I just don't know if you could set the hook on a crappie with them??

I experimented with hook sizes & I think the over sized hook really helps, giving the weed guard a place to go when setting the hook on a crappie. Here is s picture with a BPS Crappie Ringer rigged.

Those look great! There's so much brush where I'm fishing that I'm sure a jig has never made it to the bottom of the lake!

Thats funny. Im having the same issue. And had the exact same thought of the texas rig. Let me know how that works out for u Jacob.
BTW i did finally make it to the bottom but that jig never saw the light of day again.

First u form habits, then they form u.

Another thought on arkie single wire weedless. I hook minnows in the lips with these and do well. Just gotta do it so minnow is upright and not upside down. LOL.

Started out with nothing and still have most of it left.

Jacob, as your time permits, really would like to hear back on how some of your hook designs work under actual fishing conditions. They really look like they should work well....
