Me and a buddy were looking to break out the rods, but not wanting to deal with the boat. I've repeatedly driven by the small Towne "Lake" Recreational area (McKinney) on the way to and from college. I'm just wondering if it's worth checking out for a couple of hours. I would rather not make the drive if it's not worth it.

It gets a lot of pressure for a small lake, but there are decent fish in there.caught lots of numbers but biggest is probably around 5#
I think some dude caught like a 12# out of there about 10 years ago or so. There are lots of good area that aren't bank accessible. I want to get my yak on it.
Good luck.

I believe it's actually in Prosper. I've caught a few 5s, and have seen a few 7s and 8s caught.
Lots more pressure now, especially with the growth of Kayak fishing.
And yes, there was a 12-13 caught about 10 yrs ago....you can prob still google it. It was on this forum.
