Went out this morning arriving at 7am. Caught 3 big females, some smaller ones and they turned off about 9am. Fished another hour and a half because, if I don't know how to fish smarter, I sure know how to fish harder. White Roadrunners did the job. Even caught the first black bass I've ever caught in the creek after all these years. Little guy liked my chartreuse Rooster Tail.
Man,just got the fish cleaned, clothes changed, and the sky split apart. Raining hard.Talk about lucky!!! Fish dinner tonight and still dry.

Creek is coming up a bit. USGS Rowlett Creek Hopefully we'll get enough flow to entice more fish to come out of the lake.

Thanks for the advice. I had some rooster tails on me, but it seemed like the water was moving too fast..?

Astimo and I were out there yesterday afternoon for an hour or so before sundown. Neither of us caught anything but the jigs we were using were too big. There was a guy to my left fly fishing with a tiny chartrouse jig. 1/64 i believe he said. We watched him pull in a fish literally every two minutes at most. Said he had caught almost a hundred in a few hours. There were about 20 people in the water within eye shot.
Game wardens stopped us on the way out and checked lisences and watched them ticket the guys before us, so make sure your legal! The fly fisherman would be me, was out there from about 4 to 8 pm and lost count at 72. It was cool to see males chasing the female all the way to my legs while reeling her in.

Water should be more than high enough. I've seen some other yakkers and john boaters. That's a long trip from Rockwall though.

Mr2 David . You make me wanna break out my fly rod that I got from cabela. Just never had confidence to use it for sand bass. You got my attention now .
