Folks,
I'm headed out next week to Lake LBJ for the weekend with the family. I wanted to take my 3-1/2yr old daughter crappie fishing. She absolutely loves catching fish. Anyone have any pointers or could get me headed in the right direction on where to catch some? I went last weekend but had no luck (although we spent most of the time bass fishing). I have only fished the lake one other time so I wanted to minimize the time looking for fish and get her fishing quickly. Lol, they don't have much patience at that age! Thanks,

i got my little girl onto bream using live worms with success. Otherwise, if you can identify a shallow bank-side area, proven to hold actively spawning crappie, I might go that route, using minnows under a bobber. If you're planning on boating (imaging, and brush-pile fishing), I'll defer to those here who have boats.

Do you have a boat? What part of the lake will you be fishing?

We caught a bunch of crappie on Sunday and Wednesday out there. This rain may change things a bit.

The whites should be running well in the Llano and Colorado arms...as for crappie if anyone else has tips I am all ears!!! Worked my butt off this past week and could not find em!

I went a couple weeks ago and didn't catch anything. Good luck! Hope to go back next weekend.

If you can't get on them on lbj they are moving shallow on buch. They showed up this week, I live here now but grew up west of lubbock.I'd be glad to tell you where to go on buchanan.
