There is a pond a half block up at the Northeast corner of Belt Line/North Garland Road, some landmarks on the south side are Babe's Chicken House and Gold's Gym. Anyway, has anyone fished the pond with luck?

What's the penalty for being caught fishing on a closed golf course?

nothing its surounded by houses i been fishing there while people are playing, play it cool act liek you belong there and no one will take a look. but if its a busy day and you see a cart with a little light and writing on it get ready to be asked to leave. use google maps there is a old dead end road to the left of the course and a trail through the woods. its been 5 years since i been there so might be grown park in the street walk the trail and fish like mad. its over populated im talking catch 10-15 in a hour or 2.

I thought I read that it was closed, therefore, everything is locked up. I guess there is some maneuvering to get inside unscathed that is needed...

North Garland Pond is now surrounded by new apartments and construction. The pond was always on private property. We watched them drain the lake and the fish die in what little water was left before it dried up last summer. Called different agencies and they said there was nothing that could be done--on private property. Also, you can't take fish from a pond and put them in a public lake.

If I would have known they were going to drain it, i would have tried to relocate them anyway. What are they going to do except ask you to leave. I don't think that anyone would have pressed charges for you trying to save fish. I've seen it happen in Allen a few times and it's really chapped my ... rear.. I've called the city several times. I didn't get anywhere but I felt better knowing that they now knew they were killing resources.
