Welcome aboard.. If you can download to photo bucket, it's real easy to upload from there to the forum. Good luck.

Thanks bud. I have pics on my laptop at home. I just have this old android phone that won't allow me to upload. Got one that weighed 30 lbs including the 5 gallon bucket. I don't have my own handheld scale yet so i only weigh them if they are huge.

Thanks! It's all in the name of fun for me. That adrenaline rush when you feel that hook set and the fish begins to fight is crazy. Better then catching bass i know that much.

AnyHoo this is what I do for fun in my spare time away from the house. I have a little Bass Raider with a cruise and carry 1.5, Minn Kota 30lb, and my old fishing bud oreo. He will see a fish splash and go swimming for it lol.

Sweet looking fish there Cat finder. I see only one cat though. Maybe your name should be carp finder?

LOL.

And you are right. They are a blast to catch when they take off like a freight train!

Lol that's what it seems like. .. never the less Sunday i landed two blues. One 7-1/2 the other a solid 8 lbs. I mainly go for blues. Spring, summer, and fall carp just fight better then anything except gar which i don't care for much. I use the Texas angler recipe and it's pretty consistent.

The big one in the bucket and cooler is a smallmouth buffalo.

I take it you are eating these? No problem if you are. I was going to suggest that if you were not, then to not hold the fish by the lip with pliers. We all love catching these and it just kills the fish because you destroy the lip. Also, do not hold them by the gill rakers. We all catch and release here, but are not at all opposed to people eating them. Killing them is something we do not do.

PB Common Carp....... 38 lbs
PB Mirror Carp........12 lbs 8 oz
PB SM Buffalo........ 53 lbs
PB Grasser........... 48 lbs 4 oz
PB Blue cat.......... 17 lbs (caught on maize)

So 50lb buffalo? That sounds like it was a blast to catch. The ones i keep are used for blue catfish bait. The ones laying on the ground go back safely.

Good deal CF. Yeah that buff was amazing. I caught it in Austin. The grass carp was much longer. It taped out at 50".

The smaller carp are better catfish bait anyway. We tend to like to let the bigger carp and buffalos go back in the water so that we can thin out the smaller ones and catch the big boys again.

good luck

Wow 50 inches that must have put up a good fight! Usually i only take home the 7-10 lb ones but these last couple i had i was by myself and had no way to prove it other then pics and we all know pics don't do fish justice. I had to take it home or I'd just be telling Fisher man tales again lol. I think they should be biting pretty good right now. I may try to find a new place this weekend...
