I just happened to take a look see at the U S ARMY CORPS of ENGINEERS FT.WORTH DIST water mgmt website and noticed a crack in the Bardwell lake dam which means they are releasing h2o at a rate of 90cfs. I know that`s not a lot but I`m thinking they are doing so in anticipation of the arrival of this low pressure system that should deliver some more much needed rain.Anyone familiar with Chambers Creek knows that when Bardwell is releasing water,Chambers Creek turns on like donky kong and the fishing is incredible. Many a freezer has been filled and many a family has been fed from that creek.NM is releasing water into Richland Creek also @ 170cfs but it will take a deluge of RAIN water to have a serious effect on Richland Creek and put fishing conditions like it was in yester years but Good ole CC has a chance!!The magic number ,based on 2012 flow rates, is 125cfs.I`m not wishing for a "TEXAS FLOOD" but let`s just hope the sky opens up and cries as SRV would say one more time. I `ve got my fingers and toes crossed and keeping an eye on the case like sharp eye Washington. gumshoe

And I'm hoping for the exact opposite! I've been fishing Bardwell recently and having good luck. If they're releasing water, that could really put a damper on things.

I guess It depends on your point of view. Some would like to pay a few $$ and sit all day and maybe catch a few while others would rather go and sit a couple hours catch a limit on two species and pay nothing. coolio

I was told by a Bardwell Park Ranger a couple years ago that Bardwell has to release anything over 421 to Richland.

421' above mean sea level is full pool for Bardwell. Anything over, even the slightest amount has to be sent down stream.

Brother bonz. ..I am off tomorrow...I am about 3 blocks from Chambers Creek, it will be my first stop. After that I am headed to navarro mills middle creek, I will dispell all rumors tomorrow and post with results. If I strike out at those I know where some are hiding at Halbert.

Went yesterday..was there 40ish minutes caught one..then boss called ready to work. BUT my buddy across the way on the north side stuck 8 of them in that 40ish minutes. While he was there though someone busted his windows out. I went today...just got back...water is really moving and really high....didn't even get the pole out. It won't be long though.

Ok, this whole thing read like a story. What's the next part? Did anybody check it out today? Y'all got me mighty interested. What can you get in those creeks? Normal size boats or john boats only?

I'll be fishing until the end!

Water is moving pretty quick...I don't think it's boat friendly. We just walk the bank looking for calm spots and drop a jig. As far as what can be caught...crappie for sure..and there are some people bow fishing for gar...fun to watch! I will be there in the morning to see what water looks like.
