Hey guys,
A good friend of mine has relocated to the Georgetown area and hasn't had much luck fishing for largemouth on Lake Georgetown. He was asking what Decker and Granger lakes were like and I wasn't able to find much searching the forum.
Do any of you have any knowledge that could steer him in the right direction? I think Decker is a power plant lake so I think that deserves some attention but I can't find anything other than crappie info on Granger.
Are any of the lakes mentioned decent LMB lakes or should he be driving over to Austin, LBJ, etc?
Thanks for your help.
Jackson

Lake Austin not worth his time. Decker, he may catch a few fish. LBJ reports have been poor for quite a while.

Grainger is not really a bass fishery.
Decker, Travis, Bastrop, LBJ, and Austin are all excellent bass fisheries and within an hour drive of Georgetown. If he just wants to catch fish, Decker, Travis and Bastrop are his best bets.
Also, Decker's power plant is rarely generating, so it fishes more like a regular lake these days. Bastrop's is running intermittently, but it is still probably the best lake in Central Texas for numbers of 2-4lb fish.

Decker,Bastrop,Travis in that order from quality to quantity. Don't rule out Granger (I've caught a lot of bass out of it). The lake is shallow but when it warms up a tad it fishes good for largemouth.

LBJ has had a lot of good reports recently. If he wants to fish grass it is a lake to go to. Bastrop is good for numbers as the other poster said. Austin is tough now but you can still have a decent day. Georgetown's nickname is the dead sea.
