I am here on the southern part of the island. Saw some gar and a monster blue cat, but no bites yet. Don't let my lousy report fool you, I'm new to this.

When you say island do you mean the small one at the mouth?

When you say island do you mean the small one at the mouth? I had the same question. Up by where it bends south to follow the bridge?

Just got back from Rowlett Creek today. Caught a bunch of males in about an hour and a half downstream from Miller Ave. Kept two that I thought were females because of there size; over 13 inches. Got a lot of dinks less than 10 inches (six of them) and they went back. Missed my first one because of being rusty. Almost lost my rod to that one.
Creek looks to be in great shape, but we need a little more rain for the push to come up.

It's a good time. I went for the first time last Sunday fly fishing with white clousers. I pulled in 10, mostly smaller ones, in about an hour.
My advice: get on Google Maps and pick a spot, then start walking. There are fish all up and down the creek you've just gotta get to them.

Went from 1300-1330, got skunked fishing several different colored flukes, uggh. Picked up rooster tails for the next attempt on Thursday morning.

Went yesterday and caught all 12" or bigger. Gave away over 10 fish. Going back today around 11. Who's game? Rowlett @ miller I parked at the the lot on the east side of Rowlett creek on miller and walked about twenty minutes through the woods trying to find a spot and turned back when I found a pretty steep ravine I didn't wanna bust an ankle on. Is it better to go on the west side of the creek or did I just go the wrong way? I ended up relocating about a quarter mile north of the island.

I dont fly fish or have many spinners. Any suggestions? I saw a huge display today at Walmart with some knock off Rooster Tails- I think they were $2 for a 2 pack. Looked decent enough that I'll grab some to see how they work. Had white, black, pink, chart, etc... I caught 3 keeper sandbass and a crappie Sunday, and 4-5 unders on a variety of lures. Gold Super Duper. Kastmaster spoon (small), various colored #1 rooster tails (pink, white, black) http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/acme-kas...54013+297679073http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/luhr-jen...per&Ntk=All
