As the competition increases between MinnKota and Power Pole, I would bet won't be long before we see 12'/15' shallow anchors.

I have 8's and I rarely use them in more than 6ft of water, but there are times i wish I had 10ft poles.

I have the 8's, I can hardly recall a time where I wish i had the 10's, anything over 8 feet of water is deep to me, lol, besides that it looks like you have two tele phone polls on the back of the boat. grin

the guy selling those is probably selling them for the same reason i will be selling my 2 8ft talons......they arent long enough! as mentioned they dont work well unless your in 6ft of water or less. i'll be replacing mine with 12's, of course then they will come out with 14's.

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

I would bet money on it, your good fortune sounds like mine. About the time I bought two HB 1199's, there are a NUMBER of newer technology fish finders! The ones that are now looking ahead look and sound fantastic.

The 8's have been enough for me. I'm either really shallow or really deep so the 10's, or 12 ft Talons, wouldn't do me any better than the 8's.

I went from a set of 8' blades to a single 12' Talon, awesome, especially for fishing the deeper windy points.

The only reason people say no is because they are in denial! I couldn't get my 8ft poles to hold me in 6 foot of water this weekend...grr.

12' talon is the way to go!

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

+1

I will be upgrading to a 12' Talon before investing money into another PP. The 10" PP is just too tall for my liking. The extra foot it stands over an 8' would be killer for my co angler or wife fishing off the back.

How come your 8 footers would not hold you in 6? sounds like math problem to me lol I run 8 footers would love the 10 but just can't see paying that much for two feet now the 12 talons yes but I am not a fan of the talons

I was fishing this Sunday and thinking about how I wish I had gone with a 10-footer. 8-footers do not generally hold in 8 feet of water. Also, the amount of "grass" and soft bottom have a lot to do with holding ability.

Be safe,

Don't count me as being in denial, I could put 4 power poles on my boat if I wanted to, or 4 rain gutters for that matter, I use mine for shallow water, to me that is 8 foot and less. grin
