Frog Toggs are on sale at the Lewisville Gander Mountain for $19.99 - yesterday, my guide wore Frog Toggs under GoreTex, and he stayed dry. So did I, wearing (without Frog Toggs) an LLBean GoreTex parka and Lands End GoreTex pants with rubber ExtraTuf boots from Alaska.

The H2O gear is good for the price but you do need maintain them by using scotchgard, washing them effects their waterproofing. How does washing hurt them?

If you just want to stay dry in the rain & it is not cold get and wear a Foot Joy golf rain suit. if you want "warmth" then you have to go with Gore-Tex. My Cabelas Guide Wear kept me both warm and dry in the downpour at Lake Conroe last weekend. My son has the BPS 100+ and he fished in the rain today with no issues. But I only wear the Foot Joy suit when it is above 40* and I don't need the Gore-Tex.

I have a set of Frogg Toggs, went looking yesterday on returning from fishing and stopped by Academy. They had zero Frogg Toggs, I know there are better set than I have but they were out. Anyhow, bought a set of their H20 bibs and jacket. Look good but, heck of a difference in price too. $69.99 each. Hope they last better and are comfortable. From what is said on previous reports on here... they may just work out! God Bless

Cabelas Guidewear. Bought them in 97-98 I think and they are still warm and dry. They have been used extensively over the years and still haven't let me down.

Are you guys scotch-gaurding your H2O, or just wear like it is? Should they be? Every other use? Twice a year? Annually? I really don't know... God Bless

I've had Cabelas Guidewear since 2000. They are dry and warm. A good set of gear is just as important as a Power pole or a electronics upgrade, or rod reel combo. Nobody even blinks at those costs. I don't know which is better as far as brand. At the time Cabelas was closer.
